Social Stock Exchange (SSE) is a segment of the existing Stock Exchange that can help social enterprises to raise funds from the public through the stock exchange mechanism.
- Eligibility Criteria: NPO should be in existence for at least 3 years. To be recognized as a Social Enterprise, a Not for Profit Organization or a For Profit Social Enterprise must meet the eligibility criteria:
- Primacy of Social Intent: Enterprise is involved in at least one of activities from Broad areas of activities given as Social Impact Activities
- Quantum of Social work: Enterprise must have at least 67% of their revenue or expenses or beneficiaries coming from the Social Impact activities. Also, Not for Profit Organization or a For Profit Social Enterprise should not be a barred organization.

- Political or religious organizations or activities
- Professional or trade associations
- Infrastructure and housing companies except affordable housing
