Social Stock Exchange (SSE) is a segment of the existing Stock Exchange that can help social enterprises to raise funds from the public through the stock exchange mechanism.
Eligibility Criteria
NPO should be in existence for at least 3 years.
To be recognized as a Social Enterprise, a Not for Profit Organization or a For Profit Social Enterprise must meet the eligibility criteria:
Primacy of Social Intent
Enterprise is involved in at least one of activities from Broad areas of activities given as Social Impact Activities
Quantum of Social work
Enterprise must have at least 67% of their revenue or expenses or beneficiaries coming from the Social Impact activities
Also, Not for Profit Organization or a For Profit Social Enterprise should not be a barred organization.
Following are Barred organisation
- Corporate Foundations
- Political or religious organizations or activities
- Professional or trade associations
- Infrastructure and housing companies except affordable housing
